The GREEN Office Chair!

I've done a lot of posts about my office (that I never use) and have received a lot of compliments on my green chair.  It was incredibly easy to do, so I thought I'd share it with you in case you want to try it!

I got the chair for free from my sister-in-law.  She had used it in her old house and no longer needed it.

Nothing wrong with it, just not very pretty to look at.  I started by popping the wheels off so I could give them a good cleaning.  I removed the seat and legs from the metal so I could give them a good sanding.  Then I cleaned the metal real good.  I don't have any photos because I did this in the pre-blogging days.

After the wood was sanded down and cleaned I sprayed it with two cans of Krylon's Ivy Leaf.  The metal portion got sprayed with a metal-safe dark brown spray paint (I can't remember the color).

Once it was completely dry I distressed it and wiped on Minwax dark walnut stain.  Here she is all done!

I always have issues with the lighting in my office.  The color is much more warm in person.

I hope you all are enjoying your 4th of July weekend!

Cheers!

  8. Great Job! I guess the camera light bouncing off of the purple made it look more brown than green but I can see the green in the last picture and I love it. Such fun colors for an office space. ;0)
