Sew What!

A pillow! That's what!  Please let me preface this by saying I am by no means a seamstress.  But I wanted new pillow covers without the big price tag.  Right now I feel like it would almost be worth it just to buy the pillow and all its beauty from Pier 1.  Phew! This took a little longer than expected and I only have one pillow to show for it.

I had mentioned earlier I was going to continue on the SIL's bedside tables, but decided I didn't feel as well as I thought, so I decided to start my new pillow covers instead.  Off I went to Joann Fabrics.

I came home with this! You'll notice there is no pink or purple on this pillow I'm showing.  That is in store for my bedroom pillows.  There is also a peacock feather and a headband in that photo! = )  We'll see how that turns out!

This project probably would have taken me about twenty minutes if I had a sewing machine.  Unfortunately, I don't, so I had to sew by hand.  Whoever said pillowcases had to be perfectly straight? ; )

A few pokes later I finally finished!

I put a little pearl embellishment on two of the flowers.

The good news; I finished my pillowcase and I don't hate it.  The bad news; I can't find one of my needles! Oops!

  1. Oooh, it's really pretty! I'd love to do some for my bed. BTW, you NEED a sewing machine. I guess you know that already. :-)

Thanks for sharing this last week at Favorite Things Friday @ The Speckled Dog! Hope you'll be back tomorrow.
