The same afternoon that I picked up my Pink Pedestal Bowl, I also found this board.
It was only $2.50, so I bought it too. I thought it might make a cute memo board. I had a dry erase board lying around, so I tore off the frame and back of it.
I still had wood left over from this project, and this project. I traced out the size I needed and cut it out with my jigsaw. Then I sanded it and spray painted it with chalkboard paint left over from my chalkboard calender and the goodies for my littles.
I painted the board with Valspar Bayside, left over from my blue bird and my office wall art. Then I glazed it with my Valspar antiquing glaze.
There was a slit in the top of the board where I could slide in my chalkboard and memo board piece. All done!
The dry erase side is magnetic.
Right now I have it in my kitchen. It doesn't really go with the green wall, but I don't know where else to put it.
I just wanted to say Thank You for all the congrats and well wishes from everyone! The hubby ended up getting the highest academic grade and the Leadership award. Needless to say, his police department was very proud, as was I!
Cheers!
Great idea! I've always had a bit of a hate-on for those calendar thingies, until now. Love the yellow table:)
