Some Dreams Do Come True...

Yeah yeah.. I know.  Melodramatic.  I had to get your attention somehow.  And technically, my dream did come true.

I talked a few weeks ago about being inspired by The Walton's post on painting her front door a bold color.  One of my favorite was the teal door, so I wrote a post called Dreaming of Teal.

Well dream no more baby, I got teal!  Maybe not on my front door, but what I got is a good compromise between me and the hubby.

Sigh.  Mi amor!
I took this chair:

That was originally up here:

And put it here:

Told you I wouldn't leave the chair up there for long!  Guess I'll have to go antique shopping again and find some new decor for that high spot in the living room.

Don't hate on our front yard/landscaping.  That project is for when it gets a little warmer.  Our grass never got established before the cold weather set in so we're having to start over this summer.

I spray painted it with Valspar's Exotic Sea.  Yummy!

The pink flowers were on clearance @ Lowe's for $3.  Every plant I touch dies, so I never spend more than a few bucks on them.  Plus, we might still have a few frosty nights so I don't want to spend a lot of money on plants that are going to die anyways.

I only put on one coat so it would still look old:

I was taking pictures of it when one of my neighbor's walked by.  I tried to pretend like I didn't see her 'cause I felt stupid taking pictures of it.  But she stopped and told me she loved it.  Why thank you!  Now I don't feel like a creep-o taking pictures of my chair!

Just in case you haven't drooled enough:

And this is what my garage looks like right now:

Oops.  Just threw-up in my mouth a little.  That's a LOT!!  My goal is to have them all painted, distressed, and have a coat of poly by Wednesday.  Wish me luck!  I've got a lot to do!

Ok one more.  I can't help it!

Cheers!

  28. Love that chair and the color you chose!! I'm dying to see the update on your moms bar stools. Hurry.. please!! I have the exact same ones. I was originally thinking of doing mine the same color but I have no yellow in my kitchen so I am thinking of doing a cranberry red and then a black on top and then sanding so some of the red pops out.

  29. This chair looks really cool and it really does give that color pop that you were looking for! And, don't worry about taking photos, if you do it enough you'll get over the feeling stupid part....my photos are lately taken either in my work parking lot or in a public park. I will stage my creations and go at it.
